I haven't received my confirmation yet, what shall I do?

Your booking confirmation from bookmyroom-sa.com should be with you within minutes of making a booking. Sometimes it might take longer, but if you do not receive your confirmation within a few hours, then please do contact us.

Will I receive confirmation of my booking in the post?

No. The email confirmation you receive from bookmyroom-sa.com is all you will need. It displays your booking reference, information about the hotel, your room rates, confirmation number, and our cancellation policy. We can send out a written confirmation to your postal address, but you will need to request this when making a booking.

How do I amend a booking?

You will need to contact us directly by email. If you wish to extend the length of your booking or add extra rooms, provided the hotel has availability, we will amend the reservation for you and send you an email confirming the new booking details. If the hotel is not able to fulfil your request we will let you know, suggesting some alternative arrangements for your consideration.

Before cancelling your booking please read carefully the cancellation policy as follows:

Cancellation policy:

When making a booking with BookMyRoom-SA.com, the total cost of your stay is required to secure your accommodation. If you cancel 30 days or more prior to your booking date you will be refunded 90% of your total stay. If you cancel between 15 days and 29 days of your booking date you will be refunded 20% of your total stay. If you cancel 14 days or less you will lose all your payment.

Please note: All refunds can only be made to the card on which the booking was made.

How do I pay for the booking?

After selecting accommodation on the website, you will be taken through a simple booking process in which you will be asked to input information, including your credit card details. The full amount of your total stay is charged to your card to secure your accommodation.

What credit card details must I supply?

We require you to enter the following credit card details on the booking form: full credit card number, expiry date, security code, issue number (for Switch cards only), and the full name, address and post code / zip code of the credit card holder.

Can I make a booking without a debit / credit card?

Unfortunately this is not possible. Bookmyroom-sa.com requires a debit / credit card in order to process payment for your deposit. This is to secure your accommodation.

Which Credit Cards are accepted?

All major credit cards, however, there are exceptions. Information on this can also be found on the booking form, where your choice of payment methods will be limited according to which credit cards we accept.

Is the rate per person or per room?

Rates shown on our website are per room.

Are there any other charges?

All the rates that you see on bookmyroom-sa.com include taxes and any service charges.

Is breakfast included in the rate?

To find out if breakfast is included in a rate you need to carry out an accommodation search for your chosen dates. All establishments have different policies as to whether breakfast is included in their rates.

Our children will be with us... do they stay for free?

Each establishment has a different policy on children and what they charge. This may be listed on the hotel's more details page.

How do I choose accommodation?

The easiest way to choose accommodation that suits your needs is to use our 'Search' options. You just need to enter the check in date that you wish to arrive at the establishment and your check out date. Our search engine will check all the accommodations and present you with a list of all those that are available.

You can also use our 'Advanced search' option, which allows you to specify the hotel star rating you are looking for. If you are unfamiliar with South Africa, you can use our map to locate the city you wish to stay in.

Are rollaway beds/cots available?

To find out more information on the availability and cost of having an extra rollaway bed or cot for a certain establishment, please specify this request on the booking form. The cost is paid locally to the establishment when you arrive.

Do establishments have minimum age requirements?

Please be aware that some establishments may have minimum age restrictions or requirements when reserving a room. For example, some establishments with casinos may require you to be 21 years of age to check in to a room.

Can I specify room location or any special requests?

You can enter any special requests at the 'Special Request' section of the booking process. We will then pass on your request to the establishment, at which point they will try their best to accommodate your requirements. However, neither we nor the establishment can guarantee that your request can be met and could be subject to availability or additional charge.

Can I check in earlier than the check-in time?

This depends on the availability at your accommodation. You can request an early check-in when booking your room and your chosen establishment will try their best to accommodate your request.

Can I check out later than the check-out time?

This is not normally possible. You can enter a special request for a late check-out when booking your room. Your chosen establishment will try their best to accommodate your request.

Can I leave my bags at the establishment?

For the majority of establishments, the answer is yes. Most establishments have a concierge desk where you can leave your bags before checking in. In other establishments where there is not a concierge desk, it is usually possible to leave your bags behind the reception desk before your checking-in time. Do confirm with the hotel whether this is possible.
